Pied-à-terre

When both your work and leisure take you to all corners of the world, it is nice to have a special place to unwind and disconnect. The French call it a pied-à-terre. Working with local architect Valentina Barreto, we designed and renovated this charming two-bedroom Barcelona apartment.

Our client wanted a calm, harmonious, and serene place to evade during downtimes. It was very important to showcase some of the decoration pieces and family heirlooms collected over the years, while keeping with the serene ambiance.

We recovered and treated the original floor tiles with their colorful art nouveau patterns, and the bare Catalan vault ceiling, and painted all the walls and the French window balcony in a lightly broken white color. We had the perfect canvas where the color and personality will be brought up by the furnishings and art pieces, that could change to please the mood or needs of the owner.

The guest bathroom offered the perfect opportunity to install a space-saving toilet sink combo, environmentally-friendly and slick design.
