Art and reason work together beautifully to bring warmth and personality to this 270 sqm, two-story penthouse in Madrid’s La Guindalera neighborhood, within Salamanca’s district. The project is committed to quality materials, textures and equipment, as well as the integration of pieces of art, and custom-made decorative elements.
To match the client’s sensitivity and artistic personality, we collaborated with art galleries, art consultants, and the artists themselves to select more than 15 artworks that are showcased around the house: Galería Cometa and the artists Maite Carranza, Vanesa Gómez; furniture and accessories designers Lago, Mandalay, Stua, BSB, Gunni & Trentino, Vista Alegre, Paola Lenti; lighting fixtures from Años Luz and Tom Dixon, and custom-made artisan carpentry Montanino, among others.
To feed his more left-brain attributes, we designed a number of concealed furniture to gain storage space without visual barriers. Our new design completely redraws the original lay-out of the house. We created larger, unobstructed, open spaces to prioritize natural light and the outdoors living by the way of the apartments’ two large terraces.
The final result is a home that feels relaxed, welcoming and with personality.
